Duende Pictures is a New York-based production company founded in 1988 by Jordi Torrent. We have produced several feature films as well as many documentaries and television programs, including: The Golden Boat, Monuments in Love, Santo Domingo: Retrato e Historia, DownUnder, The Keeper, Miotte by Ruiz, Las Cantigas de Santa Maria, Will Eisner: Two Interviews, Jonas Mekas: A Portrait, Raul Ruiz: Miscellanea Explained, My Friends at the Farm, Oedipus, and King Returns (expected to be completed later in 2007). Currently we are in production of the documentary Mississippi to Madrid (Ain’t Ethiopia but it’ll do) and developing the feature film Africa en Casa. Jordi Torrent's first feature film as writer-director, East on the Compass, premiered at the 2005 Sitges International Film Festival and was selected for the 2006 Film Society of Lincoln Center's program Another Cinema from Spain: Film in Catalunya, and in currently in distribution.
